Welcome to the Blackpool Festival of Light,
part of the Blackpool Illuminations, the biggest
temporary light show in the World.
The Festival is a mixture of spectacular and intriguing
events and installations taking place in Blackpool
during the 66 nights of the Illuminations.
A fusion of art and light, the Festival returns on the 29th August and is spreading light across the resort with a series of new eye-catching installations,
innovative displays and spectacular events. Artists and designers will exhibit a variety of dazzling lighting displays at various locations and venues throughout Blackpool.
This year we introduce a live element to the show with Lolly Dolly & Mr Delightful. Lovingly restored, Lolly Dolly is a reworked 1970 ice cream van, bejewelled with thousands of lights. Featuring Mr. Delightful, the roving show is chauffeured about for entertainment of Blackpool’s promenaders.
Also making their first appearance are The Victorians, an impeccable pair of characters from yesteryear. As they promenade their gloriously illuminated dress, the couple will delight you with their dazzling glamour.
On the 20th of September, as part of the festival programme, the spectacular Honda Goldwing Light parade will return to Blackpool to grace the promenade. Whether you are an enthusiast or not this dazzling display of hundreds of illuminated machines is a spectacle not to be missed.
Keep an eye on this sight for details of events and installations happening all over Blackpool as they're confirmed and whether you're from Blackpool or just visiting; enjoy the lights!
Best wishes,
