Inspired Poetry

As a means of introducing other arts disciplines into the Illuminations, a group of local poets toured the Lights and took inspiration from what they saw during the Festival of Light 2005. Complimenting the traditional theme of 'narrative', which can be seen throughout the show in work such as Hickory Dickory Dock 1932, Cinderella 1949, The Old Woman in the Shoe 1963, and more recently Teddy Bears Picnic and Ali Baba, the new work created has been kindly submitted for presentation.

New Horizons, A collection of poetry from the people of the Fylde by participating poets Wendy Wood, Marjorie Nye and Elle-Marie Hinchcliffe is available for sale.
