Lantern Making

Artists from the Illuminations Department worked with the community this year for the first time when they led some outreach projects for local children. As part of the festival, workshops took place to create a lighting installation for a restaurant in Blackpool.
Facilitated by the Community Development Unit, a group of children and some parents from the Bangladeshi Sunday School came together with artists to create their own painted lanterns. The lanterns created formed a small installation hosted by the Badshah Restaurant in the Central Drive area.
