Community Projects

As a means of creating opportunities for local people to participate in the Illuminations, the Festival of Light 2005 introduced community projects, which explored ways of combining light and art. Projects included Lantern Making, Illuminated Installations, Performing Arts, Film and Poetry. The Festival of Light 2006 will offer a variety of new projects and workshops where children and adults are invited to work creatively with artists and designers. We would be delighted to hear from local groups that would like to be involved in the festival 2006 where the theme is 'Procession'.
Projects will be developed around lantern making, dance development, costume and theatre. The full programme of activities will be developed over the coming months, so keep your eye on this page for ways of getting involved!
