North West contemporary artist Danielle Chappell likes to challenge aesthetics
with composition and scale. Having originally trained in textile art, achieving a
first class honours degree from Manchester Metropolitan University, Danielle’s
work is strongly influenced by texture and form. The main purpose of her work
is to entertain and she aims to portray a sense of fun and light heartedness throughout her work. During 2004 Danielle was involved with CowParade Manchester, with her cow ‘Ravin’ Rita’ being displayed.
Manipulating perspectives and arrangements of installations, she creates
l using mixed media, she explores further with lighting technologies to create
another dimension in her work, blending vivid vibrant colour as a focus and
playfully documenting these site specific environments through photography.
“The engagement of the viewer is one of the main focuses in my work,
whether
it would be the photography or the site specific installations I create…”
(Danielle Chappell)
Danielle has exhibited work nationally, including Blackburn, London,
Manchester Swindon and Workington.
